African Centre For Environment, Energy and Climate Advocacy
Driving Policy, Partnerships, and Public Action for a Sustainable Planet
At the Africa Centre for Environment, Energy, and Climate Advocacy (ACEECA), climate advocacy is central to influencing policy, promoting good governance, and mobilizing communities to act on climate change. Guided by our Strategic Pillars and Theory of Change, we champion evidence-based advocacy that strengthens institutional frameworks, encourages private sector engagement, and amplifies community voices in climate decision-making.
ACEECA works closely with government agencies, county governments, and civil society actors to support climate-responsive policies and regulations. We provide technical advisory services, research-backed recommendations, and stakeholder consultations to ensure that climate action is embedded across sectors.
We amplify climate voices through campaigns, forums, and workshops, ensuring that communities, especially women and youth, are active participants in shaping climate solutions. Our outreach efforts emphasize education, awareness, and participatory approaches to drive collective action.
ACEECA engages businesses, financial institutions, and development partners to foster collaborative climate solutions. By promoting corporate sustainability, low-carbon investments, and public-private partnerships, we support initiatives that reduce emissions and build climate resilience.
Leveraging the ACEECA Knowledge Bank, we provide data-driven insights to inform policy and advocacy strategies. Our research underpins campaigns, strengthens climate narratives, and ensures interventions are measurable, transparent, and impactful.
Convening policymakers, researchers, and community representatives to co-create actionable climate strategies.
Empowering local stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes and voice environmental concerns.
Encouraging businesses to adopt low-carbon operations and sustainability commitments aligned with national climate goals.
ACEECA’s advocacy is anchored in a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) framework to ensure accountability, effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Cross-cutting principles guide all initiatives, ensuring that our work is inclusive, evidence-based, and aligned with sustainable development.
Our climate advocacy work directly supports SDG 13: Climate Action, as well as related goals on sustainable communities, energy access, and ecosystem protection.
By combining research, policy engagement, and community mobilization, ACEECA drives transformative climate advocacy that ensures inclusive, resilient, and sustainable solutions for Kenya and beyond.
