African Centre For Environment, Energy and Climate Advocacy
An Integrated Framework for Sustainable and Climate Resilient Development
ACEECA's work is guided by four interconnected Strategic Pillars that collectively advance environmental sustainability, climate resilience, clean energy transition, and inclusive governance.
These pillars reflect our commitment to delivering integrated, evidence based and scalable solutions that address the root causes of environmental degradation, energy poverty, and climate vulnerability.
Through this framework, ACEECA contributes to Kenya's national development priorities, Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Healthy ecosystems are foundational to climate resilience, food security, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. ACEECA advances nature based solutions and community led environmental stewardship to restore degraded landscapes and protect critical ecosystems.
Climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable populations, particularly women, youth, and rural communities. ACEECA supports climate adaptation and mitigation strategies that strengthen resilience while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Access to clean and affordable energy is essential for environmental sustainability, economic opportunity, and public health. ACEECA promotes inclusive renewable energy solutions that reduce emissions and minimize reliance on unsustainable biomass fuels.
Sustainable climate action requires inclusive governance systems and evidence informed policy engagement. ACEECA advances climate literacy, strengthens civic participation, and promotes accountability at national and county levels.
ACEECA's four pillars are mutually reinforcing. Ecosystem restoration enhances climate resilience. Clean energy reduces pressure on forests and lowers emissions. Climate action strengthens livelihoods. Advocacy ensures that policy frameworks support sustainable transformation. All pillars are implemented within a robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) framework.
Guided by three core principles that ensure inclusion, innovation, and accountability across all pillars.
Leveraging digital platforms, climate data systems, and technology‑enabled solutions to enhance programme delivery, monitoring, and market access.
Ensuring meaningful participation and leadership of women, youth, and persons abled differently in climate action, clean energy transition, and environmental governance.
Strengthening locally led environmental stewardship through transparent, accountable, and participatory governance structures.
Through this integrated approach, ACEECA delivers measurable, inclusive, and scalable climate solutions that contribute to sustainable development in Kenya and beyond.
