Community members in Chiakariga, Tharaka Nithi County, have partnered with ACEECA to set up a tree nursery as part of the Restoration of Degraded Riparian Ecosystems Project. The nursery, established on September 30, 2025, features species such as Cassia siamea, Calliandra calothyrsus, Gmelina arborea, and Bambusa vulgaris.
The School Greening Programme is a flagship environmental education and sustainability initiative led by the African Centre for Environmental Energy and Climate Advocacy (ACEECA). This programme is designed to promote environmental stewardship, biodiversity conservation, and climate action among secondary school students across Kenya. Through hands-on activities like tree planting, organic gardening, and climate education, the initiative empowers young people to become active champions of a greener, healthier, and more resilient future.
